As long as I can remember I have always been interested in design and sketching..

After moving to White Rock 25 years ago, I was fortunate enough to take a watercolour class and that began my serious love affair with the medium.  After seeing my drawings come to life in colour I was hooked.  I have painted in watercolour as well as acrylic, but my true fascination and inspiration lies with mixed media.

Mixed media has allowed my imagination to wander into unchartered waters and  introduced me to a more abstract way of resolving  my ideas.   Using bits and pieces at my disposal, it seems the opportunities are endless and hopefully unique.   Nothing goes to waste and sometimes the smallest piece of paper or overlooked scrap is the inspiration for another piece of work.

For the last few years I have also been fortunate enough to belong to a life drawing group and my mixed media work often includes life drawings from these sessions.

I continue to take courses and enter juried shows.  My awards include Best in Show for the juried White Rock Millennium Rotary Art Exhibit in 2004.  For the juried show “Arts 2008” at the Surrey Art Gallery I was awarded first place for the mixed media category.  I have participated in many local shows and in several  ‘art specific’ fund raising events in Surrey as well as Vancouver.

I call Nanaimo my new home for the past two years and love Island life. Now showing at Lantzville Art Gallery.
